The regular morning sounds were suddenly replaced last Saturday with those familiar sounds of the summer concert usually put on by the local cicadas.One of my friends declared that event to signify the official start of summer.When I first came to Japan I didn't care much for the crying of the cicadas,and how they jumped out at me when I accidentally awoke them late at night,but like everything else, I guess I have grown accustomed to them. Who knows,maybe they bring a sense of harmony to our summer.

Just curious how other folks feel about those darling cicadas.
