New Orleans: a ghost town as Gustav approaches

This time things are supposed to be different. The administration is trying to get it right. There has been a mandatory evacuation the last few days with Gustav bearing down on New Orleans.
Over ninety percent of the population have left, making the place virtually a total ghost town. All the governmental agencies are trying to be on top of the game with Gustav. People who have pets can bring them along this time unlike three years ago when Hurricane Katrina hit and evacuees couldn't bring their pets along. At that time many folks ended up refusing to leave and thus perishing together with their pets in the ensuing disaster.

Dodged a bullet!

I think N.O really dodged a bullet this time when Gustav turned to the west before coming ashore. I actually like surfing when typhoons come to Shizuoka.
Some of my friends say I'm crazy, but I'm just woozy about surfing. Tongue
